Steven Lambert - Coldharbour

I moved to Fairford Leys from Wandsworth, South London in August 2002. I was attracted to Aylesbury Vale for its community feel and closeness to open countryside - a world of difference from congested, impersonal central London.
I graduated from the Open University in June 2005 with a Social Science degree focussing on Politics and Government. My degree gave me a passion for local politics and desire to make a difference and do something of value for the community. As a result I became a Parish Councillor for Coldharbour Parish Council and was elected as Chairman in May 2006. In May 2007 I was elected as an Aylesbury Vale District Councillor for Coldharbour Ward.
I am passionate about my community and its links with the wider Aylesbury community and want to see the District Council promote the local businesses and the Coldharbour community groups to the rest of Buckinghamshire, as well as champion public involvement in the Council's activities.
I maintain a close relationship with all parts of my ward which includes Prebendal Farm, Hartwell, Pearson Close, The Willows estate and Briskman Way. I am also a member of the Coldharbour Neighbourhood Action Group. In addition I am Vice-Chair of Governors at St Mary's Church of England School in Fairford Leys and a Community Governor at Quarrendon Secondary School.
In my work life I am a qualified project and programme manager and have worked for Post Office Ltd since 1989 and I am currently a Product Manager for the Post Office HomePhone Service. I have a wide range of interests from reading to going to the cinema and theatre - especially those produced by local groups, and am interested in outward bound activities such as orienteering. I also have a life-long passion for history and am a member of the National Trust and the RSPCA.
