RESIDENTS' PARKING-When is a review not a review?

Bucks CC has apparently undertaken a 'review' of Residents Parking in Aylesbury. It is understood that they limited this to signage and bay marking.
“I was led to believe” said District Cllr Keith Turner “that the review would also cover whether resident's parking was having the desired effect in the areas to which it has been applied, further areas that could be given over to resident only parking and the prospect of combined on-road and car park permits particularly in the Old Town area. Apparently this was not so”.
It appears that un-elected Officers of both AVDC and Bucks CC got together and decided they would limit the review without discussing this with anyone else. “Town Cllr Steven Mitchell and I channelled all the comments we received from residents into this process but have not anything back from either the County or District Council.
The only comment we could get from AVDC was on the concept of a parking permits that allows combined use of on-street and AVDC official car parking was “ABSOLUTELY NO” as this apparently would cause problems with “revenue streams”.
We find it quite unacceptable that people have been mislead in this way and will continue to press for the proper review that we were promised when the scheme was introduced.
