The Princess Mary's Hospital Site affects all of Wendoverians
|
The parties involved in the development of the Princess Mary’s hospital site in Wendover keep acting as if this development affects only the immediate neighbours. They are holding again a ‘secret’ Exhibition. They claim to “have sent out 550 invitations to residents living in close proximity to the site and have advertised in the local press.” The only mention in the local press I know off is thanks to the Liberal Democrats and the Wendover Society communicating with the Bucks Herald. This development is relevant to all of the residence in Wendover and its neighbouring villages. First, the plans call for a dangerous precedent of three and four story flat houses. This will open the gates for urbanization (in the negative sense) of our picturesque villages. Second, the new 400 houses do not come with extra local jobs. That means an increase in commuter traffic through the village and more demand for parking near the library and the train station. As a result an ‘Improvement’ to the Clock-Tower junction is proposed. They claim “the detailed designs have progressed over the last few months” – but there has not been any change to the information on their web. So, if you are concerned and want to learn more come see the Exhibition planned for the 7th of June between 14:30 to 20:00 at the Wendover Memorial Hall.
