A huge thank you to all our former Councillors

Peter Cooper - Wing Ward
Peter Cooper stands out as a remarkable inspiration. For an incredible 40 years, he dedicated his life to serving our community.
Beyond his time as a Councillor, he was a vital First Responder, taught life-saving First Aid to so many, and supported Queens Park Arts Centre as a Trustee.
His passion for helping people was truly infectious and deeply inspired many of us who are Councillors today.
Peter, you did an absolutely amazing job. Filling your shoes is a huge challenge, but you've shown us what it means to be a true community champion. We promise to keep working hard, inspired by your incredible example.
Thank you so much for everything you've done. We wish you all the very best for the future.
Tom Hunter-Watts (Aylesbury East and Oakfield)
Tom had been a Councillor since 2011 before deciding to step down at the last election.
At town many will remember him stepping in to take over as Mayor after the sudden passing of Steven Patrick in 2013. A difficult job which he took on with his usual good grace and unflustered approach to things no doubt honed from his many years working in the NHS.
Tom would then later become Mayor in his own right with Mark Willis as his deputy, his time as Mayor being marked with his good humour, well-constructed speeches and his fundraising for Inspire All. Tom has also been a loyal member of the party for many years, his considered opinions always worth listening to and his ready offer to deliver leaflets is always much appreciated.
Tom leaves both Councils with our best wishes as he looks to focus more time on this family and his role at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
Mark Willis (Oakfield)
Mark will always tell you two things, the first that being Mayor of Aylesbury was the best thing that he ever did and the second that he chaired the hardest working committee at the Town Council!
A Town Councillor for much of the last 25 years having been co-opted then re-elected (with a brief voter led hiatus until they saw the error of their ways) a number of times.
Mark’s Mayoralty was marked by colourful outfits, red boots and a desire to get the Town more active. Mark’s charity, Carers Bucks, a cause close to many of us was a great choice and he raised a significant amount of money for them.
Mark, like Tom, has been a loyal member of the party for many years and leaves us for Wales with our best wishes where no doubt he’ll be running something other than Parkruns before too long.
